K J J warren is an artist using free-form abstract mark-making in drawing and sculpture. His work is inspired by patterns in elements of earth, water, and air, and by ecopsychology, which explores the entangled relationship between the individual and landscape.

As this ecological thread works its way through his pattern forming process, artworks emerge and further the questioning by gathering and salvaging materials with ties to environmental concerns of waste and pollution. From wires and e-waste to fragments of rope, twine and netting found on beaches, these materials become poetic threads woven into sculptural assemblages.

These abstract assemblages emerge with a nebulous quality and Warren plays with this to keep the relation open between the known and the unknown. The forms created can then invoke and be evocative on both micro and macro scales, in degrees of chaos and order. In doing this his work evokes entanglements that characterise the ecology of the contemporary world and work to become part of an open space for ecological action.
